Branding the Legion

The American Legion has started a new program to re-energize the American Legion brand. You will see a story on this in the February 2013 edition of The American Legion. It proudly proclaims, “No one does as much for active-duty military, veterans, military retirees and their families as does the Legion.” Our member veterans are doing a lot in our local communities, yet many still do not associate their efforts with the American Legion. IRA Charitable Rollover

It is now tax time and we are now looking at what we did last year and the effect on our taxable income. If you have been considering making a significant donation to the renewal or support of the American Legion Post Home, there is still time. Scout Court of Honor – Jan 30th

Troop 505 announced that their Court of Honor will start as usual with a heart-warming Flag Retirement Ceremony. The troop will present 81 Merit Badge awards that have been earned, 17 Rank Advancements, and two Special Awards. Health Clinic Held for Vets

A local muscular therapist, Julie Donnelly, assisted local veterans by holding a class for post members. The class taught our members how to release body pain. This clinic was her idea as a fund-raising event that will benefit everyone! Non-members are asked to make a $15 donation to the Post’s 2013 American Legion Boys State Program. Continue reading
