A hundred years has passed since the first men sailed for Europe to fight for freedom.  And, in 1919, the returning servicemen joined together in France to form the American Legion.  How much do you know about “the war to end all wars?”

William Melega, recipient of the VFW National Teacher of the Year Award, has a lecture series and it is sponsored by the Chapel Hill PTA at the Chapel Hill Varsity Theater.  The first of the series of ten presentations is on World War I and will be on  Thursday, Oct 19th.  Reception at 6:00 pm and Lecture at 7:00 pm.

Cost is $25, $30 at the door.  A portion of the ticket cost goes to the PTSA and The Wounded Warrior Project.

Elmer Hughes will attend with his son as a special guest of the PTA and William Melega to represent our older veterans and Vice Commander Nick Cervantes will join him as a special guest representing current conflict veterans.
