A Tribute to our World War II Members

Our World War II heroes are called the Greatest Generation, and that they were.  But the many mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers who prayed for them and kept things going on the home front were special too.

Here is a memorable video by Richard Sullivan created to remember serviceman on Memorial Day.   It is timeless.

Richard Sullivan’s father took random photos of people, places and things during his service.  This video is a journey through the war and the people he met along the way.  Richard used a recording of Vera Lynn for the background music.  He said it was sung “as bombs fell upon Britain: the genuine sadness in her voice needs no violin accompaniment for effect.”

Let’s not wait to take time to remember what our Chapel Hill World War II did for our nation. Take time to say, “Thank You.”
