American Legion Post 6 Mission Statement

As stated in the preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion, “For God and Country we associate ourselves together for the following purposes:

To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America; to maintain law and order; to foster and perpetuate a one-hundred percent Americanism; to preserve the memories and incidents of our association in the Great Wars; to inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation; to combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses; to make right the master of might; to promote peace and good will on earth; to safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy; to consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.”

We seek to add new members so that we will be able to grow and serve area veterans–both members and non-members.

We also want to take time to enjoy the fellowship of those who have served their country.  Now that we are home, there is much for us to do together working on projects.

Our Mission

Our mission is to further promote the interests of our organization and our members by fulfilling the mission of the American Legion, as stated in our constitution’s preamble, within our community.
