Commander’s Message – Dec 2018

Christmas note from Commander Munsee

A Warm Christmas Greeting To All,

This year, like the previous three, have been filled with plenty of drama for our Post…After selling our current Post to the Town of Chapel Hill. Soon after the deal, we formed the “site committee” and the “building design committee.”To date, we have purchased a new 128-acre site, have an 85% design completed and the heavy graders have already commenced moving dirt around the property to facilitate our new Post.

E nough business. We are now planning the Christmas Party for December 8, 2018. A special thanks to Bob Medred, Ed Gill and Karen Gill who have chaired the Party for the last several years. Recently, Bob Medred took the baton and led the charge for the past two celebrations. This year Bob Medred and Regina Merritt have joined forces to ensure our best Christmas of all time. If you want to assist Regina with the decorations, please call her at (919) 360-8383. She will most likely be decorating on the 5th and 6th of December.

Ironically, I believe this Christmas Party will be the last one we will ever have on this site…so let’s make it our greatest party ever.

I regret that we are a little behind the power curve this year sending these invitations out, so please be very very prompt in returning your answers.

We will gather in the small meeting room at 5:30 PM for a social hour so we can meet and greet old and new members. Refreshments will be served and Christmas Carols will fill the air. Victoria Chall will provide the music.

This is an evening you will not want to miss as it is the highlight of the year for Chapel Hill Post 6…and we don’t talk business.

I look forward to seeing all Post members, wives, significant others and invited guests. Please return your R.S.V.P. to Lee Heavlin as soon as possible. Instructions are on the  invitation. Download your copy by clicking here.  To R.S.V.P., you can download the response care here.

With sincere wishes for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

William Munsee

Post Commander
