NC Memorial Hospital Event for Veterans

The president of UNC Hospitals, Mr. Gary Park, is hosting an event to recognize our local veterans at NC Memorial Hospital the week of Veteran’s Day.  The event will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 10th.  Guests are asked to join with the hospital staff in the main lobby of the NC Memorial Hospital.

Memorial Hospital was the first hospital built on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus and is named in honor of all those who have and will serve in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Lieutenant Colonel Danny Hassell, U.S. Army (Ret.) and a member of Chapel Hill Post 6, will be the guest speaker.  Colonel Hassell has served two tours in Iraq.

Bob Patton, Chapel Hill Post 6 Adjutant, will be recognized for his contributions and efforts to memorialize both the 65th Infantry Division and Holocaust victims at Mauthausen, Austria, and surrounding camps.
