We communicate by mail, the internet, and by sharing our story with others. We also produce a periodic newsletter where we share what we are doing with home-bound or distant members. You can view our newsletters by selecting one from our library.
Regina Merritt, Post Historian, welcomes your stories. Be it just a photo and a caption or sharing a story, post event, future event, or news to share, all help build our post history. Submit what you have and she will work with you to create a story for the newsletter or for our post website blog.
We also encourage all members to become part of our North Carolina veterans historical project. If you would like to record your story for your family or yourself, Rusty Edmister of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post can assist you. He will interview you (just a simple fireside chat) and record the conversation. You’ll receive a copy of the interview and several copies for your family. Your interview will also be submitted to the veterans historical project. Don’t let your story go unrecorded. We have witnessed too many events where we heard, “Dad never told us about that…,” “We never talked about what he did in the service…,” and “I did not know….”
