Boy Scout Troop 505

Boy Scouts of America, Chapel Hill Troop 505, moved to our Post as a sponsored troop in 2011.

We thoroughly enjoy working with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 505 and Venture Crew 505.  We encourage all members to assist the scouts and to make them feel very welcome in their new home.

  • Our Post was honored when Troop 505 was selected as the Department of North Carolina Scout Troop of the Year 2011-12. This selection reflects the Department’s recognition of their efforts in the community and with Post 6.

Our post home is the largest American Legion Post site in the State of North Carolina.  It occupies over 32 acres of park and wooded areas, a wooed trail along the pond and stream, a pond for fishing, and a lot of open space suitable for group activities and camping.  Learn more about our facilities and you will see why more than twelve local scout troops join Troop 505 for scouting activities, camping, jamborees, and ceremonials right here on our post grounds.  Learn more.
