Veterans Day

Veterans Day celebrates the living veteran.  It is not a day of memorials.  It is a day of recognition.

Post vets join Grady Brown Elementary School’s 2nd Grade class on Veterans Day

We do not host post events on Veterans Day.  We get out and into the community to share the message that veterans take their responsibilities as citizens seriously.  We continue to serve our country and citizens by contributing to our community, fostering Americanism, and helping those in need.

We must head the words of our first Commander-in-Chief, General George Washington, who said in 1798, “The willingness with which our young people will fight in any war, no matter how justified, shall be directly proportional as to how they perceive the veterans of earlier wars were treated and appreciated by their country.”

You can view our list of activities in Chapel Hill by downloading our schedule.  Why not join us as we speak and serve others, especially homeless veterans, this week.  Click here to download Event Schedule Veterans Day 2014
