Read moreIn the summer of 1919 a group of World War I veterans gathered in Raleigh to consider creating an American Legion Department for the State of North Carolina. From that convention, local veterans from Chapel Hill joined together for a Chapel Hill Post and received their Charter on August 28th, 1919.
