Wang Elected Supreme Court Justice at Boys State

William Wang of Chapel Hill attended this year’s Tarheel Boys State as one of our post-sponsored students.  We are very proud to announce that he was not only an excellent candidate, but he performed with distinction.

Mr. Wang took the Boys’ State Bar Examination and earned the highest examination score in  Tar Heel Boys’ state history.  He was also elected Supreme Court Justice at Boys’ State.

His accomplishments at Boys’ State earned him an invitation to the American Legion Boys’ Nation in July. William Wang is a rising senior at Chapel Hill High School.  Interested in the Boys’ Nation agenda?  It is now available.  Learn more

At Boys State and Nation, participants learn the rights, privileges and responsibilities of franchised citizens. The training is objective and centers on the structure of city, county and state governments.

Major Everett “Bud” Hampton funded William Wang’s participation at this year’s Boys State.  In addition, he funded one participant to Girls’ State through the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in memory of his wife, the late Louise “Tommie” Hampton.  She was a graduate of Girl’s State, class of 1944.
