Clemens Elected 74th NC Boys State Governor

Nick Clemens of Chapel Hill, was elected Governor of the American Legion Tar Heel Boys’ State, on Wednesday, June 19th. His election took place during a week-long event at Catawba College.  Nick is a rising senior at Carrboro High School.  He is also on the Carrboro High School Lacrosse team.

The elected office of Governor is the highest office and the governor represents the interests of all of the states citizens.

“The government is run by the people, and to get elected to any position it requires the support of these people, not just the ability to be the best. Nick believes that all is done through the people from both parties, and for a successful state it is required for these parties to get past their differences. Nick is seen as a strong leader in his church and his community. He plans to stand by his belief of one state over two parties to keep things running efficiently throughout his time in office. He will do his best to lead boys state to greatness.”  Learn more
